Hi, this is Elizabeth. I'm unable to answer my phone at the moment, but if you want to leave a message after the tone, I'll get back to you as soon as possible.
That's a relief. And hopefully I'll not miss my presentation. Although normally I like papers. Hmmm. Yeah, I think my imagination can work that well too.
Oh yes. We'll have to go out when you get back. On maybe like a date? *laughs* I bet you have. I know, hon. We should. We have three of us at least. Parker's looking at Harvard too; she might want to come along too.
You'll have fun with the class. Professor Tick is great. If you really wanted, I'm sure he'd let you write a paper. I think I like your imagination. Though I've completely lost track of your swimsuit and the sunscreen in mine.
Yeah, that sounds like a good idea. Maybe Sunday, or early the next week? We've never been on one of those, have we? Or did prom count? They deserve it. Well. They don't, but I want to anyway. Parker and Rory. Maybe we should just take it up with the admins Principal Washburn?
I know. I was really disappointed I couldn't get in this last semester. And I don't go around asking for extra papers. That's an ugly, unsubstantiated rumor Huh. There's not even sunscreen in mine.
Any day will probably work. Although I'm not sure if Caritas is open on Sunday's. But we'll work around that. I think prom might count. But a non-school-sponsored event thing might be nice You're evil hon, and I love you for it. Possibly not Rory. She's convinced that she wants to go to Harvard, so she doesn't think she'll visit. Unless she's visited before; I don't know. We'll do that when you get back.
Maybe you'll get in next semester? And I'm sure you only go around hinting for extra papers, hon. I was thinking how nice it'd be to put sunscreen on you.
Maybe early next week, then. Or someplace else. There's Ching Tai. I think so too. But some place on our own would be nice. Thanks. That's nice to hear. I love you too, you know. Wait, Rory wants to go to Harvard, so she doesn't want to visit? That makes no sense.
I hope so. It'll be top on my priorities. Maybe. Senior privilege though, right. And no hints. Really. That could be fun. We'd have to make sure we're both all covered, right?
Ching Tai is good, yeah. It would, definitely. I'm smiling again just thinking of it I know. This is Rory we're talking about. As I said, she might have already visited. She did live in Connecticut, so she wasn't that far to go.
Hopefully that'll be enough to get you into the class. Are you sure you don't? Because I know you. All over. Every inch of skin. We wouldn't want to be sunburned.
I love Chinese food. Just thinking of prom? It was a lot of fun. You're right. It does make a kind of Roryish sort of sense. We'll have to ask her. Or you could, since you're there.
I'm sure it will be. If not, I'll have to ask nicely. I have better things to do with my time than write extra papers. Although not at the moment. Maybe I should find a teacher and ask... Oh no, absolutely not. It's all in the interest of health, right?
And me. So it's a date? An actual date. Yeah. You looked gorgeous that night. I shall ask her, just to make sure. If there's a sizable group going she might decide to join then?
Professor Tick does seem to be receptive to niceness. Oh, you're kidding me. Can't you find your own things to research during break? I'm sure I'd start with your back. And yes, health. In the interests of keeping you healthy.
Um, yeah. An actual date. About which I'm now nervous. You were beautiful that night. She might want to come along just for fun, and she can be our expert guide then.
Yeah, I'm sure it'll work. International relations isn't quite as easy to research as genetics and quantum physics, y'know. It's more about the practicalities, which I'm slightly hampered from doing at the moment. I think I'm more interested in where you're going to finish. Purely for my health, of course
Don't be nervous. You'll make me nervous too! I'm blushing again. I wish we'd had more than one dance together though Perhaps. We'll check with her. Or I'll check with her. Whatever.
You can be very charming. And persuasive. I don't know, I suppose you could see what's going on in the world right now? I don't know these things. I'm fairly sure I'd ask you to turn over and I'd get sunscreen all over there, and then I'd lose track of what I was doing.
Then I'll try not to be. Stop blushing. What's wrong with being beautiful? Next time. Whatever works.
It's one of my many talents, honed during years of work. I read three papers a day, and either put on BBC News 24 or check their website. I can write a reaction piece or editorial to most of the political stories out there. And then because we'd made a mess of the sunscreen, we should probably retire in doors, right?
Good. We don't need to be nervous. Really. It's not as if we're not friends already, and we've eaten together before and it shouldn't be different just because it's a date. I guess I'm still not used to compliments. Can I ask you to Homecoming now to make up for the last minute invite to Prom?
Yeah, but you use those talents on me for fun. How do I manage to miss that every day? Or am I too busy with my own research? Such a mess. We'd be slippery. Going indoors would be the only solution.
Right, we've known each other for how long? I'm sure it'll be fine. You should get used to them. I won't stop. And you could. Yes. Absolutely.
Mmm, yes and I'm very fond of doing so. I tend to do it when your nose is stuck in one of your textbooks, yes. I do the crosswords too. We'd have to clean each other up too, I think. Because it would be unsafe to be that slippery
Uh, nine months, give or take? We will be fine. I am trying. And I am getting better. Actually, I think I'll wait and ask you when you get home.
See, I don't use my bedside manner on you. Ah. That explains it, then. My nose is stuck in one of my textbooks a lot. Are the crosswords fun? Slippery would be fun. I mean, unsafe. Would we have to get in the shower together?
Nine months is a really short amount of time. Wow. But I know you really well for only having known you nine months. Which is kind of a shame, because I like when you blush. Why are you going to wait?
Well, that's good because I don't want you beside the bed. I know it is, dear. They're not too bad, most of the time. Although sometimes they'll slip and spell a name wrong or something. Oh, yes. I don't know about you, but I'm always appreciative of an extra hand or two in the shower
I guess a lot of it is to do with the fact we're living together. It's not like we just see each other for work, or go out to coffee a couple of times a week. I'm trying not to blush again here. And if I wait, I get to ask you in person. With kisses.
I'd really rather not be there either. Are you doing those shoulder exercises I *handwavily* gave you? I like studying, especially if it's one of my own projects. And that explains the bouts of swearing in Russian at the paper, doesn't it? Yes. Hands. Which I'd use to lather up every inch of you.
That's only part of it. It's also that I've wanted to get to know you very well. Oh, I think you should blush. Mmm. Kisses.
*sighs* Yes, dear. Every morning and night, just like I promised. There's nothing wrong with studying. And, um, yes. See, you noticed that! I'm sure I'll be returning the favor.
Well, I think we can safely say that was achieved and we know each other very well indeed. Yeah, I am. Lots of kisses
Would you bother if you didn't know I'd be asking about it? And I should know by now that I don't have to defend studying to you, shouldn't I? *giggle* It's very loud. And very not English. I hope so. I'll also be kissing you when I'm lathering you up.
I'd have to agree. You're very pretty when you blush. Maybe more than kisses?
Uh, yes? And no, absolutely no need to defend studying to me. I don't like swearing in English. Mmmm. We'd also have to be very close together because showers aren't meant for two really. But I'm sure we'll manage.
I think I'd be worried if you didn't there! *laughs* Okay, I'm blushing again. I think we could stretch to more than kisses. We won't have seen each other in nearly a week by the time you get back.
You don't sound very certain. I don't need to, because you're as bad as I am, which is nice. Why not? I think we'll manage very well. And that's about all I can think about right now.
Me too! Good. You think you could put forth the effort after nearly a week? I'm reassured.
I am. Mostly. Okay, I'd probably do them if you weren't asking. But as you are going to be asking, then I'll definitely be doing them, so it's a moot point. It is. Because the whole studying for fun thing is difficult to explain to those who don't get it. Because then other people understand me. Also? Russian can be very expressive. Yeah, me too. Why do you have to be so far away right now?
Oh, I think the effort that will be put into it will be more than equal to it.
That would be why I'm asking. If there's a trick in the book to get out of something, hon, I've seen it. What's wrong with other people understanding you if you swear? Because I wanted to go to the Carribean?
Well, I'm not getting out of it. I'd do them now, except I'm lying in bed and it's a bit difficult to do like that. Because it might be at a time when I need to be watching my language. Or because I might actually be insulting someone around me and not wanting them to even risk overhearing. Not that I do that. *coughs* Really. I guess I can forgive you for that.
Of course you're not getting out if it. Why would you think you could? What if someone speaks Russian and you don't know it, though? What would you do then? Um. Yeah.We had that talk already.
I never thought I'd be able to get out of it. Really. Then I'd be screwed and hope I hadn't been insulting them? I know and we're not having it again, 'specially over a phone. I love you.
