Friday afternoon - Around and about

Elizabeth might have already been for a short walk this morning. But this walk was for the purpose of seeing what she could photograph for her workshop and Janet was coming with.

So, after the fun at the beach workshop, she headed back to the cabin to pick up her camera once more.

"I'm sure she's just doing what she can when she can," said Janet, blushing more strongly by now.

Elizabeth leaned across the table conspirationally. "She's not fooling anyone. And she's also very cute when she blushes."

"Well, you'd have to ask her that," Elizabeth said lightly.

"That might look a little funny if I tried," said Janet, completely avoiding the issue.

Elizabeth rolled her eyes slightly, directing her attention back to the menu once more.

Janet stuck her tongue out at Liz. "So what are you ordering?" she asked curiously.

"Bacon cheeseburger and a chocolate milkshake, I think," Elizabeth said, not seeing the tongue. "You?"

"Plain cheeseburger, cheddar fries, and a strawberry milkshake," said Janet, flipping her menu closed. "Do we have any exciting weekend plans?"

"I have a sneaking suspicion we'll spend most of Saturday in the dorms still," Elizabeth said innocently.

"Do you think so?" asked Janet. "That might be boring." She sounded worried, anyway.

"I'm pretty sure we can make sure that it's not," Elizabeth said, smiling sweetly as she gave their orders to the server.

"Do you think we can come up with something interesting?" asked Janet hopefully.

"I think if we put our heads together and think about it, we can come up with several activites to keep ourselves busy in the dorm room for an entire day," Elizabeth said.

"I think we might be creative enough to do that." Janet nodded in agreement, and then looked around. "I need to order coffee too, I think."

Elizabeth grinned. "Why doesn't that surprise me?" she asked. "I think I'm gonna grab a take-away from the Perk to walk back to school with."

"Because you know me too well." Janet drummed her fingers on the table while waiting for their order. "That sounds like a good idea. Did you want a mocha?" asked Janet innocently.

"I honestly hadn't thought that far ahead," Elizabeth admitted, looking across at Janet curiously.

Janet shook her head. "Nothing. I'm just feeling very coffee deprived." She smiled at the server who brought their milkshakes.

"You poor thing," Elizabeth said, turning to thank the server. She opened the straw and took a long drink. "This was a good plan."

"I'm pretty fond of it," said Janet, spooning up whipped cream. "I'm glad you thought of it."

Elizabeth eyed the whipped cream. "You suggested Luke's."

"I did?" Janet frowned and licked the whipped cream off her spoon. "Wait, you're right, but you suggested getting lunch."

"Uh hu," Elizabeth said, her eyes still fixated on the whipped cream.

A slow smile spread across Janet's face as she noticed Liz's gaze. "So most of the plan was yours," she said, setting the spoon carefully down on the table, swiping at the whipped cream with her finger, and then licking the whipped cream from her finger.
