Friday afternoon - Around and about

Elizabeth might have already been for a short walk this morning. But this walk was for the purpose of seeing what she could photograph for her workshop and Janet was coming with.

So, after the fun at the beach workshop, she headed back to the cabin to pick up her camera once more.

"Do you think we can come up with something interesting?" asked Janet hopefully.

"I think if we put our heads together and think about it, we can come up with several activites to keep ourselves busy in the dorm room for an entire day," Elizabeth said.

"I think we might be creative enough to do that." Janet nodded in agreement, and then looked around. "I need to order coffee too, I think."

Elizabeth grinned. "Why doesn't that surprise me?" she asked. "I think I'm gonna grab a take-away from the Perk to walk back to school with."

"Because you know me too well." Janet drummed her fingers on the table while waiting for their order. "That sounds like a good idea. Did you want a mocha?" asked Janet innocently.

"I honestly hadn't thought that far ahead," Elizabeth admitted, looking across at Janet curiously.

Janet shook her head. "Nothing. I'm just feeling very coffee deprived." She smiled at the server who brought their milkshakes.

"You poor thing," Elizabeth said, turning to thank the server. She opened the straw and took a long drink. "This was a good plan."

"I'm pretty fond of it," said Janet, spooning up whipped cream. "I'm glad you thought of it."

Elizabeth eyed the whipped cream. "You suggested Luke's."

"I did?" Janet frowned and licked the whipped cream off her spoon. "Wait, you're right, but you suggested getting lunch."

"Uh hu," Elizabeth said, her eyes still fixated on the whipped cream.

A slow smile spread across Janet's face as she noticed Liz's gaze. "So most of the plan was yours," she said, setting the spoon carefully down on the table, swiping at the whipped cream with her finger, and then licking the whipped cream from her finger.

"Go me," Elizabeth said distractedly.

"Yes," said Janet. "I'd say you did a good job." Her tongue darted out to lick a stray bit of whipped cream off the tip of her finger.

Elizabeth shifted slightly in her seat. "I should have suggested take out..."

"It's not like we can't ask them to wrap them up," said Janet, smiling. She looked at her glass. "All we really need to finish here are our shakes."

"But if we were going to grab some stuff afterwards," Elizabeth said, hesitating although she wasn't really sure why.

"Who says we still can't?" asked Janet, dipping her finger into the whipped cream again. "I mean, if you want to stay, we can."

Elizabeth just gulped and signalled the server. "Can we get our order to go instead, please and the check?"

Janet smiled innocently as she licked the whipped cream off her finger. "Thank you," she said, almost demurely.

Elizabeth tore her eyes away as she tried to pay attention to her own drink. "You're welcome."

"It won't take you long to finish your milkshake, will it?" asked Janet.

"Not as long as it's going to take you with the attention you're giving that cream," Elizabeth said innocently.

"I suppose I could just gulp it all down, if it would get me there faster," said Janet, her eyes open wide.
