239/240 - Wednesday afternoon

Despite having been raised in New England, Elizabeth didn't really like snow. It was fine for skiing, say, but she was quite happy staying inside in the warmth and watching the snow from her window.

One might accuse her of hiding, but she'd prefer to call it strategic concealment.

"Oh, Harvard, Yale, NYU... the usual suspects," said Elizabeth, laughing slightly.

"This does not surprise me," said Radek, nodding. "You already know more than they can teach you, I am sure."

"In some courses, yes," said Elizabeth. "It just means that I'll have to take more of others."

"And here I thought you would be perfect at everything," said Radek.

Somewhere in the background, a suspiciously Rodney-like voice could be heard grumbling about kissing ass.

"Oh, but I am," laughed Elizabeth, winking. "Just perfection requires more effort in some areas than others."

"Stop hogging the camera," said a gruff voice. A dark arm came into view and nudged Radek. "Everyone needs a turn to say hi."

"Ronon!" exclaimed Elizabeth delightedly. "What are you on Earth for?"

Ronon looked awkward and scratched at the back of his neck. "Uh, we're actually on Atlantis right now. We're not supposed to be dialing in, but McKay said we wouldn't get caught."

"Thor called me from his ship once," offered Janet.

"Who's that?" demanded Ronon.

Elizabeth grinned. "My roommate," she said. "I take it you missed Rodney's ranting and raving earlier?"

"Actually Teyla and I just got here," said Ronon. "We were meditating."

Janet waved. "Hi. Dr. Janet Fraiser. Liz's roommate."

"She's a citrus-bearing demon!" Rodney exclaimed in the distance. "With needles."

Ronon laughed. "I like her already."

Elizabeth grinned. "Yeah, she's pretty easy to like," she said, glancing fondly across at Janet. "How did the meditating go? It doesn't seem to be your sort of thing really."

Ronon shrugged. "Teyla suggested it," he said.

"You know, I figured as much," said Elizabeth teasingly.

Teyla moved to stand next to Ronon. "He has stopped falling asleep every time," she said, looking smugly at him.

"That sounds as though it's a great improvement," said Elizabeth, smiling. "It's good to see you, Teyla."

"And it is good to see you, Elizabeth," said Teyla, smiling widely. "Perhaps in ten or twenty years, we will call and tell you Ronon has become accomplished at meditation."

"Hey!" Ronon frowned at Teyla, who looked serenely at him.

Elizabeth giggled. "I'm looking forward to that call already," she said.

"You can be assured that I will call you as soon as possible," said Teyla. "Though I expect that it will be some time. Happy birthday, Elizabeth."

"Is it my turn yet?" asked Carson, trying to peer around Ronon's shoulder.

"Carson!" exclaimed Elizabeth happily. "You're all there?"

"Just about everyone, lass," said Carson, shoving in between Ronon and Teyla and grinning at her. "Had to leave someone to man the fort. I see you're comfortably ensconced at your school for now. Tell me you're planning on celebrating your birthday."
