Elizabeth was currently waging war.

On her closet.

Having obviously grown since she had ended up in this body, last summer's clothes were starting to look pretty indecent on her.

And having procrastinated about it for long enough, Elizabeth had decided that she was going to sort out her clothes now.

And then have a shopping trip to completely rebuild her wardrobe.

"Are you just now figuring this out?" said Janet, shaking her head. "I know we've moved slow in the past, but I didn't think we were moving that slowly."

Elizabeth shook her head. "No, just thought I'd voice it now," she said, turning to smile up at Janet.

"That I can understand," said Janet, smiling. She brushed her fingertips across Liz's face. "Why now? Or no reason?"

"No particular reason really," said Elizabeth, sighing slightly as she leant in to the touch. "Love you."

"I love you too," said Janet, still grinning. "So--" She hesitated. "Is there any particular reason your clothes are all over the place?"

"I always have method to my madness," grinned Elizabeth. "I'm trying to sort out what doesn't fit, or what I don't wear and get rid of them."

"Do we have a thrift store on the island to donate them to?" asked Janet, glancing over the piles of clothing. "I know we used to, but you might have to go to the mainland now. How did you manage to acquire that much clothing anyway, Liz?"

"I don't remember seeing one last time I was in town, so I was expecting to head across to the mainland anyway," said Elizabeth, shifting closer. "Um. I'm not really sure. Obviously there was the whole going into a shop and handing over the credit card aspect..."

Janet giggled. "I have a credit card, and I think I own half the amount of clothing you do," she said. "If that much. Of course, there was that time in October when you-know-who shredded everything I own."

Elizabeth reached across to squeeze Janet's leg comfortingly. "I think I like clothes better than you do though," she said. "I'm sure we can improve your wardrobe on our New York trip."

Janet nodded. "It's not that I dislike clothing or going shopping," she said. She looked down at her jeans and t-shirt. "But somehow between then and now, I stopped caring as much about it. Do you know I used to wear makeup every day? I suppose I ought to get some more of that when we go to New York."

"Yeah, I've pretty much given up on makeup too," said Elizabeth, grinning. "The only thing that seemed to last on Atlantis was eyeliner."

"That's really odd," said Janet. She frowned as she thought about it. "Did you ever figure out why?"

"I didn't really have that much time to think about it," said Elizabeth, grinning.

"I can imagine things were almost non-stop. That wasn't around when--" Jante paused. "You know, I don't think I ever asked exactly when it was you, Shep, and McKay had that accident with Ancient technology."

"It was only me in my universe," said Elizabeth, smiling ruefully. "It was last August. I'm coming up on my year anniverary in this new body."

"I like this new body," said Janet, smiling softly. She reached out to trace Liz's face. "And maybe it's selfish of me, but I'm glad that happened to you."

"I definitely don't mind it as much as I thought I was going to," admitted Elizabeth, smiling up at Janet.

"It's a lot easier to deal with when you've got other people," said Janet, blushing faintly. "I'm not as alone as I was when I came here."

"Definitely not alone," said Elizabeth firmly.

"I know. I'm not alone now." Janet shook her head. "But enough of that. How much clothing are you planning on buying in New York?" Then her eyes widened. "How much clothing are you planning on making me buy in New York?"

Elizabeth smiled mischeviously. "It'll depend how often we'll get out of the hotel room really."

"Talk about incentive for staying in the room," murmured Janet.

Elizabeth giggled, reaching her hand up to cup Janet's face. "We will have to leave a couple of times at least," she said.

"We do?" Janet pouted. "That's not fair. What will we need to leave for?"
