239/240 - Early morning

Elizabeth was only really half awake, as she stretched out along the bed.

The fact that she still couldn't really remember what she and Janet were talking about on Monday still bothered her slightly; there had been the gym and then they'd ended back in the room. According to Peter, everyone had been telling each other the truth all day. In which case, it was probably a good thing that they'd all forgotten it.

There had been some sort of deja vu in the writing workshop and also when she'd brought lunch to Janet yesterday.

Other than that, things had been pretty normal; taking books back to the library, hanging out in the common room (although strangely the third floor one for once).

There was just the thing about submitting something photographic for the art fair. Veronica might have suggested shots of the cheerleaders - and she'd even got some of them flying yesterday. But there was the whole issue of Janet killing her. Which would so not be good.

Elizabeth turned to look at the clock and groaned slighly. It was far too early, she decided, curling back up again.

"Oh, thank God," Elizabeth sighed. "You are wearing a bra today then?"

"I wore a lower-cut t-shirt than usual today," mumbled Janet. "I'm kind of mad. I liked that shirt." She stripped off the fur bikini and sarong to reveal a matching forest green satin bra and underwear set.

"See, that I did notice this morning," Elizabeth pointed out. She pouted slightly. "Callisto can't keep it forever, can she? Because I liked it too."

Elizabeth apparently missed Janet getting dressed this morning. She leant back on her elbows. "Okay, that's good. Nothing more's needed."

"She says she'll give them back next week." Janet shook her head. "That's what she said about our shoes last week, and it didn't happen."

Janet looked down at her outfit. "I suppose you think this means I'm not going to leave the room the rest of the day?" she said, crossing her arms and grinning at Liz.

"I'd ask her, but I'm scared of her," Elizabeth said honestly. "Maybe you'll get everything back at the end of the workshop?"

Elizabeth just grinned back. "What would you possibly need to leave the room for?"

"Just because she's cranky and tyrannical?" asked Janet, raising an eyebrow at Liz. "I'm cranky and tyrannical and you're not afraid of me, are you?" She shrugged. "Maybe? If nothing else, I'll find a way to bribe Angel to come back and distract her while we steal it back."

"Well, I did make plans to meet up with English Peter for coffee later," said Janet, closing her closet door and leaning against it. "But that's not for a while yet."

"Of course I'm not afraid of you. I'm in love with you," Elizabeth said, grinning. "That would... hopefully work."

"A while is good," Elizabeth said, pushing herself off the bed and crossing towards Janet.

"It's always good to know you're in love with me despite my cranky and tyrannical nature," said Janet, a smile breaking out on her face. "Maybe we'll leave a trail of hair products around the preserve and steal our clothing back while she's distracted. I'll bet we could talk Sam into picking the lock on where she hides our clothing. And shoes."

"I certainly agree," said Janet, her eyes sweeping across Liz's figure.

"That I am," Elizabeth said, smiling back. She giggled. "As long as you can find out where she's hidden them before you do that."

"I thought you might," Elizabeth murmured, standing in front of Janet and resting her hands gently on her hips.

"I'm sure that the workshop students could manage that if we worked together," said Janet. "So far I've resisted emailing Angel and whining about his girlfriend."

Janet took a deep breath as she looked up at Liz. "You do know me very well, after all."

"I don't know; Angel might find the email amusing at least," Elizabeth said, grinning.

"I like to think so," Elizabeth said softly, before leaning down to gently kiss Janet.

"Mm," said Janet, reaching up on her tiptoes to run her fingers through Liz's hair.

Elizabeth wrapped her arms around Janet's waist as she deepened the kiss.

"This is nice," murmured Janet, leaning her head back against the door and looking up at Liz. "If slightly awkward due to the difference in our heights."

"Should we get you something to stand on?" Elizabeth suggested innocently. "Or perhaps move it to the bed?"

Janet whapped Liz lightly on the shoulder. "Let's stick with the bed!" she exclaimed, trying to glare at Liz and failing miserably.

Elizabeth just laughed as she began shuffling backwards, her arms still wrapped around Janet's waist. "You need to grow."

"You think I don't know that?" asked Janet. "I'm not getting past five feet, two inches, hon." She might've muttered something that sounded like 'stupid Asgard.'

"Well, that'll be a six and a half inch difference when I've finished growing too. I suppose it could be worse." The back of her legs bumped against the bed, and she sat down.

Janet pouted. "Yeah, you could be six feet tall," she muttered. "I'm so sick of being short." She sat down in Liz's lap.

"I like you short," Elizabeth said, reaching up to brush hair away from Janet's face. "Snuggling would be so much harder for one." She leant forward to kiss her again.

"Well, there are some good things about it," conceeded Janet. "But I wouldn't have cupboard space going completely unused. And I refuse to believe snuggling would be that much more difficult."

"Do you need your unused cupboard space?" Elizabeth asked. "Well, it can be done, obviously, but you just sorta... fit and I like that."

"That's not really the point," said Janet, snuggling closer. "Oh. Well. I do like that part, definitely."

Elizabeth giggled slightly as she gently ran one hand down the length of Janet's spine. "Good."
