239/240 - Friday evening

Elizabeth returned to her room happily ladden down with books. Lots and lots of books.

She'd also grabbed the post on the way up, and idly wondered what Janet had ordered from Logitech. She dropped the box on the bed and moved to the bookshelves, ready to reorder them.

Elizabeth's eyes widened. "Oh," she exclaimed.

Janet nodded, opening the box up. "It was fun," she blurted out. "But unexpected."

Elizabeth was blushing slightly herself, as she turned to lie face down on the bed, looking up at Janet. "I just wish I could have been there to help," she admitted.

Janet paused as she was removing the padding from the box, then glanced down at Liz. "Oh. Um, wow. That would've made it better." She bit her lip. "I was describing everything to him. What I was doing to myself, I mean."

Elizabeth's eyes were still wide, and she crawled up the bed slightly. She bit at her lip. "How come I don't get phone calls like that?"

"Because when I called you from the Carribean, Daniel was just through a glass door from me," said Janet. "I wanted to, though."

"Okay, good point," Elizabeth admitted, resting her head against Janet's leg. "Next time perhaps?"

"Definitely," said Janet, smiling down at Liz. She pulled out the product and the receipt. "Okay, I didn't order a webcam. Did you?"

Elizabeth shook her head, looking up. "Nope. And if I had done, I'd have had it sent to me too."

"That's what I figured," said Janet, glancing at the receipt. She blushed again. "Oh."

"Oh what?" Elizabeth asked.

"Daniel sent it."

Elizabeth just looked up, gaping slightly. "Oh. Does he really think that you're gonna, well, y'know in front of a camera for him?"

"I might." Janet worried at her lower lip. "Um. I told him I didn't mind the two times he watched you and me together."

Elizabeth shifted slightly uncomfortably, looking away. "Well, it's not as if I was adverse to it either," she muttered. "I wasn't that far gone either time."

"I didn't think you were," said Janet quietly, looking down at her lap. "Either averse to it or that far gone."

Elizabeth turned to face Janet's leg. "At this rate, we'll end up doing it sober one day, won't we?" she said, her voice muffled.

"Maybe," said Janet, running a hand through Liz's hair. "Would that be a bad thing?"

"I'd be odd," Elizabeth admitted, relaxing under Janet's touch. "We wouldn't be able to hide behind the alcohol. I wouldn't be able to hide from myself."

"It would be odd," agreed Janet, trailing her fingers over the skin at the nape of Liz's neck. "Not hiding that way. But what wouldn't you be able to hide from yourself, hon?"

"Because I tell myself that I only did it because I was drunk," Elizabeth explained quietly.

"That's what I tell myself too," Janet said. "And we were pretty drunk, after all. But maybe it'd be okay if we weren't?"

"Maybe," Elizabeth said hesitantly. "I guess we'll just have to wait and see how it goes."

"We can stick with the getting drunk for a while yet," said Janet. "Trust me."

"Good," Elizabeth said with feeling. She lifted her head to smile at Janet, before sitting up and wrapping an arm around her waist.
