With damp hair haphazardly thrown in a pony-tail, Elizabeth was sitting crosslegged on Janet's bed, a legal pad in her hands and her laptop open on the bed beside her.

Janet unlocked the door, dropped her backpack, and turned to smile at Liz. "Hey, hon," she said.

Then she saw what was tucked in the back of Liz's pad of paper, and had to hide a frown. She thought she'd hidden that scroll from Myth Into History a lot better than that.

Elizabeth looked up and smiled. "Hey, gorgeous," she said warmly, resting the pad on her knees. "How's your day been?"

"Not too bad," said Janet happily. "I had class today." She came over to sit down by Liz. "You?"

"Class too," said Elizabeth, leaning across to softly kiss Janet. "Had to tell the truth in ethics, which managed to be a lot less traumatic than I feared and I did actually just tell the truth, which was impressive."

"What truths did you have to tell?" asked Janet, smiling at the kiss and leaning closer to the legal pad. "I'm not used to not lying, really. Is that awful of me?"

"Just a little bit about myself and then we talked about classes although it's still being played," said Elizabeth. She smiled. "Not really. Lying's not exactly something you should be proud of."

"Talking about classes sounds easier. I know that feeling." Janet shrugged. "I'm not. But I know when it has to be done."

Now, how to get Liz distracted so she could get that parchment?

Elizabeth nodded slightly and shrugged. "A necessary evil really," she said.

"I've never lied to you," said Janet, her voice serious. "And I never will."

Elizabeth smiled softly and nodded slowly. "I've never lied to you either," she said. "And I'm not going to start."

"I know that," said Janet, inching her hand to the legal pad. Trying to sneak a piece of parchment to avoid deep embarrassment was not lying either. She leaned closer to press a soft kiss to Liz's mouth.

Elizabeth shifted as she kissed Janet back, the legal pad falling off her knees and behind her.

Janet overbalanced, and knocked the legal pad down onto the floor. "Oh, damn," she murmured.

"I've got it," said Elizabeth, leaning back and over the bed. Something had fallen out the back and she frowned as she picked it up. "I don't remember putting anything back there."

"You didn't," said Janet, reaching for the parchment.

"That would explain it then," said Elizabeth, grinning. She glanced down at it. "What's with the parchment?" Her eyes widened as she noticed some of the words. "Uh. Janet? Honey?"

Janet was too busy blushing and burying her face in her palm. "Class assignment," she muttered. "I'd say 'don't ask,' but you will anyway, won't you?"

"Not if you don't want me too," began Elizabeth, before getting distracted as she started to read. Her eyes widened. "What class was this for, sweetheart?"

"Myth Into History," said Janet, peeking up at Liz's expression. "It was supposed to be overblown language. I think. Also, I just can't write."

With any luck, Liz wouldn't ask the point of the exercise, and she wouldn't have to tell her about how the Danger Shop created a visualization to go along with what she'd written.

Too bad.

"And the point of this was?" asked Elizabeth, glancing briefly across at Janet, one eyebrow raised.

"It was something I thought I could write?" asked Janet. "Um. You and me on a beach at sunset? And I didn't think anyone was going to see it!"

Which pretty much gave away the fact that everyone had seen it. Oops.

"Who else saw it?" squeaked Elizabeth. "And I don't have a dress that low cut!"

"Um. There was a very literal visualization in the Danger Shop." Janet's entire face was deep red. "And I know you don't, but you'd look good in one if you did!"

"Oh. My. God."

Elizabeth blushed herself. "Maybe you can persuade me to buy one this weekend," she murmured.

"I was right there!" exclaimed Janet. "But, um...I'm going to try to persuade you to. If we go shopping."
