239/240 - morning

It was the first weekend in Fandom for a while.

So, Elizabeth figured that she was allowed to take it easy.

Her homework was done; although that wasn't hard as she'd lost two classes in the past two weeks. She was very glad that she'd picked up Western Lit to keep her timetable from being too sparse.

So, she had a box of chocolates open, she had a good book and she had Madonna playing. Really, what more did she need?

Cameron knocked on the door.

"Hello?" Elizabeth called, turning the page.

"Yo!" Cameron called back.

"Hey, Cam, come on it," Elizabeth told him, smiling and laying the book down.

Sam knocked on the door, clutching a cup of coffee.

"Come on in," Elizabeth called.

Cameron opened the door and stuck his head in. "No morning run?" He asked, but he knew it was a bit too late for that as he had his shift at the cinema today as well.

"Morning, Liz," Sam said, yawning. "Wanna help me paint Daniel's apartment today?"

She shook her head. "Nah, not this morning. I figured I might hit the gym later though."

"You look tired," Elizabeth said, tilting her head and looking at her sympathetically. She blinked. "You're painting Daniel's apartment?"

"Sounds liek a good idea, I overslept." He entered the room fully and closed the door behind him.

"Don't tell Janet," Sam rushed to answer. "He wants it to be a surprise for her. And don't ask what we had to go through to get a color chosen--he also wanted to pick out furniture, but I think I talked him down off that ledge."

"It's really cute, but if he's not careful with this, he's going to scare the hell out of her."

She patted the bed next to him. "At least you slept, hon," she said. "That's good. Did you actually get to sleep in your room last night?"

Elizabeth just looked really amused. "He's painting his apartment for Janet?" she asked. "That's really, really sweet."

She cocked her head curiously. "Sam? What aren't you telling?"

Cameron sat down and nodded. "Yeah, I remember again why I like beds so much." He noticed the book. "Watcha reading?"

"He is," Sam affirmed, taking a large slurp of coffee. "And it is. But if he's doing that with the idea of having Janet move in, I think it makes a lot more sense to have her be an active part of the furniture selection committee, instead of me."

"Lots of things," she grinned.

She grinned. "Beds are good," she agreed. "I'm currently reading The Adventures of Sherlock Holmes. Have you read them?"

Elizabeth laughed. "It really does," she agreed. "I suppose he didn't think of that until you pointed that out?"

She pouted. "I was going to offer you a chocolate. I'm not so sure now."

"One or two, but it's a long time ago." Cameron stiffled a yawn and got more comfortable on the bed. "Who did it?"

"He may be one of the smartest humans on the planet, but he's still a guy," Sam smirked. "It puts him at a disadvantage."

"Even if I knew anything, which I don't," Sam hid her grin behind her coffee cup, "I would have sworn I wouldn't tell."

"I've not got that far yet," Elizabeth grinned. "And likewise, it's been a while since I've read them myself."

"Even worse, he's a guy in love," Elizabeth pointed out, grinning.

"Uh hu," she looked skeptical. "Has anyone ever told you that you're a terrible liar?"

"What happened to the other book? Did you finish it without me? Cause I still don't know what she did."

Elizabeth grins. "It's on my bookshelf. Do you want me to continue to read it to you?"

"Yep," Cameron jumped up from the bed and went to retrieve the book. "Can we skip the nail painting this time, though?" He asked as he sat back down and handed it to Liz.
