Room 239/240

Elizabeth is lying, curled up on her bed with a stuffed bear.

A small, neatly wrapped box is sitting on the bedside table.

She's trying to read; the same book she's been reading ever since she was in the library after Speech class.

Her mind keeps flashing back to the trip she made to Mali and the Ivory Coast. She can hardly believe how young and naive she had been. How back then she thought that she could help change the world.

She seems to reread the same paragraph over and over again

"A tumble? Oh, yes - out of the swing," said Katy, as it all came slowly back to her. "Did the rope break, Aunt Izzie? I can't remember about it."

She always reached for books from her childhood whenever she felt down.

*tosses the nail remover bottle to him* It'll be easier if you do it yourself. *pulls out cotton wool balls*

*eyes cotton wool balls and nail remover wearily* You're assuming I know how to do this.

*rolls her eyes*

Open bottle. Put cotton wool to top of bottle. Tip so liquid comes onto cotton wool. Use cotton wool to wipe the pretty colors off your hands.

*stares at her*

*grabs the bottle and pours some onto the cotton wool*

Now, wipe this across your nails.

If you can't figure out how to do it yourself, I'm leaving you with painted nails

*sulks* You can be mean.

*starts wiping at his nails*

*smiles sweetly*

You need to learn to do things yourself

*rolls his eyes* Yes, because I'm going to do this a lot.

*wipes viciously at some of the nail polish but it just does not want to go away*

*snickers* Well, you never know.

I suppose. Do sidekicks polish their nails?

*still wiping*

I imagine some might.

Besides, clear polish is supposed to be good for your nails.

Dude, I'm a guy. We don't... polish our nails. Normally. *gives up, still having some clue on one hand*

*raises eyebrow* Used to?

Yeah, lost contact with them when I moved. You know how it is.

Yeah, I do. It's not like I've heard a lot from my friends since I came here.

*shrugs* I should go find Crichton though, he's got our gifts for Rory.
