239/240 - Early morning

Elizabeth was only really half awake, as she stretched out along the bed.

The fact that she still couldn't really remember what she and Janet were talking about on Monday still bothered her slightly; there had been the gym and then they'd ended back in the room. According to Peter, everyone had been telling each other the truth all day. In which case, it was probably a good thing that they'd all forgotten it.

There had been some sort of deja vu in the writing workshop and also when she'd brought lunch to Janet yesterday.

Other than that, things had been pretty normal; taking books back to the library, hanging out in the common room (although strangely the third floor one for once).

There was just the thing about submitting something photographic for the art fair. Veronica might have suggested shots of the cheerleaders - and she'd even got some of them flying yesterday. But there was the whole issue of Janet killing her. Which would so not be good.

Elizabeth turned to look at the clock and groaned slighly. It was far too early, she decided, curling back up again.

Janet nodded. "Really," she said, grinning widely. "I think a special occasion is whenever we say it's one." She shook her head. "I don't know, hon. We've had a few big days, after all. Not that we've necessarily admitted all of those big days to ourselves."

Elizabeth's grin matched Janet's. "I like that idea," she said, wondering just how soon she could declare a special occasion. "Yeah. Maybe we could pick one perhaps?" she suggested, almost shyly. "And then we could celebrate it. With lace. And chocolate. And champagne."

"I thought you might," said Janet. She reached out to trace the contours of Liz's cheek. "We should do that. Pick one, I mean." Her cheeks were stained lightly with pink. "That sounds like a very good plan. Or maybe it's that my mind is stuck on the idea of you wearing sheer lace."

Elizabeth leant in to Janet's touch, sighing slightly. "Okay. What should we pick?" she asked. Elizabeth ducked her head, grinning. "No more than my mind's stuck on you wearing it."

Janet paused, the tips of her fingers resting against Liz's skin. "I...have absolutely no idea. The day we decided that we're actually dating?" Janet's smile widened. "Champagne, chocolate, and you in sheer lace? It'll be heavenly."

Elizabeth nodded. "Yeah, that works." She flushed guiltily. "Any idea when that was?" Elizabeth leant to kiss her gently. "Maybe we could spend it away from the dorms? Away from Fandom?"

Janet chewed on her lower lip. "A few weeks before prom?" she asked, sounding hesitant. "I'm a horrible girlfriend." She smiled against Liz's mouth. "I think we should. It would be nice to get away from this place with you for a while."

"Yeah, I think it was just after Easter," Elizabeth said. "And I'm just as bad as you are." She kissed her again. "I'm still going to take you to New York."

Janet shook her head. "You're not a bad girlfriend," she said, returning Liz's kiss. "I'd love to go to New York with you. Would we leave the hotel at all?"

"Neither are you. We still need a date though," Elizabeth said, her fingers resuming their movement on Janet's back. "Um. Maybe?"

"All right, I'm not a bad girlfriend," agreed Janet cheerfully. "We could go with the day of prom?" She shivered, arching her back. "We'll just have to make sure the room service is very, very good, then."

Elizabeth laughed, leaning in to kiss her again. "Prom's good. April 22nd then. Which means that we have a two month anniversary next week." She grinned, tracing cyrillic characters almost automatically. "And if it's not, I suppose one meal out wouldn't kill us. Well, it might frustrate us but that's what restrooms are for," she added, far too innocently.

Janet brought her hands up to tangle her fingers in Liz's hair as they kissed. "Mmm. You're delicious," she murmured. "We really are high schoolers, if we're going to celebrate a two-month anniversary." She smiled at Liz. "You're entirely too tempting, you know. And horribly evil."

Elizabeth grinned. "I know. We might as well take advantage of the more fun parts of high school," she said. "I'm never going to be able to sit across a table when you're drinking a milkshake, if we're talking about temptations. And I'm not."

"Like celebrating the most minute of anniversaries?" asked Janet. She giggled. "I swear, I didn't realize what it was doing to you! At first, anyway. And you are, but only in the best way."

"Exactly! Although if we hadn't been so reluctant to talk about things and stuff, we could be on like, a five month anniversary," Elizabeth said, grinning. She laughed. "Next time, we won't make it back to the dorms. I'm totally serious about the restrooms here! I think that's a compliment. Yes?"

"Two months is only an arbitrary number anyway, given how long we've been together without admitting it," said Janet, running her hand along Liz's arm. "The dorms are more comfortable. Maybe I'll just order soda next time instead. She giggled. "It's a compliment."

"I know. I'm glad we finally admitted it," Elizabeth said, smiling gently at Janet. "Yes, but that walk was very frustrating." She grinned, leaning in to kiss her again. "Good."

"Me too. It's nice not to feel like I can't let myself realize it." Janet nodded. "It wasn't just frustrating for you, hon." Janet groaned. "If you keep kissing me like that, we're not going to leave the bed for a long time."

"Exactly," Elizabeth nodded too, curling up closer. "Oh, I know. The kissing in the stairwells was very nice." Elizabeth just giggled. "And?" Kiss. "So?" Kiss. "Therefore?" Kiss.

"What about the kissing the instant we got in the door here?" asked Janet. By the time Liz was done, Janet's arms were wrapped around Liz's neck and their bodies were tangled together. "Nothing really," she gasped. "Just wanted to let you know."

"Mmmm, very hot," Elizabeth declared. "Frantic and desperate is good for us. Although so it slow and gentle." She smiled seductively. "Consider me informed," she murmured.

"I notice we tend to lean towards the frantic and desperate," said Janet. She glanced to the side, her eyes narrowed in thought. "We haven't done slow and gentle in a while." Janet drew her thumb across Liz's mouth, her eyes glimmering with laughter. "Now that you know, is there something you're going to do about it?"

"Very true," Elizabeth grinned, her hands gently carressing along Janet's back. "I guess that ties into the fact that we always want each other." Smiling, Elizabeth kissed Janet's thumb. "Hmm, y'know, I think I'm going to have to keep kissing you," she said, leaning in to do just that.

"It's kind of scary how much I always want you," said Janet, drawing her hands along Liz's sides. "Perfect," breathed Janet, her lips parted.
