Friday afternoon - Around and about

Elizabeth might have already been for a short walk this morning. But this walk was for the purpose of seeing what she could photograph for her workshop and Janet was coming with.

So, after the fun at the beach workshop, she headed back to the cabin to pick up her camera once more.

"We've managed to go about everything in backwards order, haven't we?" asked Janet.

Elizabeth nodded. "Absolutely. But we never have been conventional, have we?"

"Far, far from it, really." Janet grinned and swung Liz's hand a little as they walked. "I don't mind--both not being conventional and going about things backwards."

"We'll get there in the end," Elizabeth said, nodding. "Or, we're already there and we'll get to the beginning? Or something?"

I'm not really sure which one." Janet bumped against Liz with her hip. "But I like where we are. And where we're going, so I suppose there aren't any problems, right?"

"Absolutely," Elizabeth nodded, brushing against Janet. She grinned. "I'm especially fond of where we're going right now."

"Luke's?" asked Janet. Her eyes sparkled. "Or the dorms?"

Elizabeth pretended to think for a moment. "Well, I am very fond of Luke's food, it has to be said. And Luke himself was very nice to me when I was six. But the dorms... well..."

"I think Luke's nicer than he lets on," said Janet. "But the dorms sound a little more, um. Exciting."

"They do, don't they. Especially if you have post." Amazingly, she wasn't blushing.

"That can be a very fun sort of thing to receive," said Janet, nodding.

"I know. I don't receive enough post. Although I got a parcel the other week with the sarong I ordered when you were away," Elizabeth said thoughtfully.

"Really," said Janet, looking curious. "Did you leave that in the dorms? Because you should make sure it fits, if you haven't already."

"I did leave it there, yes," Elizabeth nodded. "And I think it fits, but you know, it's always good to have a second opinion."

"One which I would be more than willing to provide," said Janet seriously. "Because we're friends."

"There's no one's opinion I'd trust more than yours," Elizabeth told her, equally seriously.

Janet blushed. "Thank you," she said quietly. "That's good to know."

Elizabeth smiled gently down at her. "You're welcome," she said, before glancing ahead. "Hey, we're nearly at town."

"Oh, good," said Janet. "I'm starting to get very hungry. Did you want to eat first?"

"Oh, definitely," Elizabeth said, nodding. "I'm pretty famished myself."

"So, lunch it is, then," said Janet. "Luke's won't take that long to get to. I think I'm going to be horribly unhealthy today."

"Do you think we should pick something up for dinner while we're in town as well?" Elizabeth asked innocently.

[janet_fraiser]

"That's probably a good idea," said Janet. "I don't know about you, but I may get caught up in hunting for things in the room."

"I have a feeling that might happen too," Elizabeth nodded. "We can get a bottle of wine as well and have a nice evening in together."

"That sounds good. Something quiet." Well. Quiet as in 'away from other people,' at least. A tiny smile flickered on Janet's mouth.
