Friday afternoon - Around and about

Elizabeth might have already been for a short walk this morning. But this walk was for the purpose of seeing what she could photograph for her workshop and Janet was coming with.

So, after the fun at the beach workshop, she headed back to the cabin to pick up her camera once more.

"I don't do so well when I'm in them," said Janet, drifting closer to Liz as they walked.

Elizabeth squeezed Janet's hand again. "Well, then definitely keep you out of them," she said.

"You do a good job at that," said Janet, squeezing back.

"You don't do so bad yourself at keeping me happy, y'know," Elizabeth said lightly, looking down to smile at Janet.

"Is that so?" asked Janet, glancing away briefly. "I--wasn't so sure lately."

Elizabeth stopped abruptly in the middle of the path and moved to take Janet's other hand. "I wouldn't be half as happy in this place... in this body without you," she said simply. "No matter what things I might come out with when I'm in a bad mood."

"Good. Because the last thing I want is to make anyone unhappy." She sighed. "I know we're in a weird situation. But I'm glad. That you're happy with me, I mean."

"I know, and I am happy. I promise," Elizabeth assured her, letting go of Janet's hands and instead wrapping her arms loosely around Janet's waist

Some of the tight look around Janet's eyes melted away at that. "Thanks. For telling me, I mean."

"You're happy too, right?" Elizabeth asked, a small amount of concern creeping into her eyes.

Janet nodded, moving a little closer to Liz. "Of course I am," she said. "Things get weird sometimes, but I'm still happy."

"That's good to," Elizabeth said, smiling. She glanced up and down the path before leaning down to gently kiss Janet.

Janet blushed as their lips met, but she brought her hand up to briefly touch Liz's face.

Elizabeth pulled away after a moment, slightly regretfully. "Come on. We have a lunch date, remember? And as much as I'd like to continue kissing you, I think we'd be better off doing that somewhere that's not the path between the camp and town!"

Janet giggled. "Privacy really is a good thing," she said.

"It is. And you know, I'm sure no one would fault us if we took advantage of the privacy back at the dorms," Elizabeth nodded.

"I would hope no one would be there to know," said Janet, grinning.

"Oh, yes. That's true," Elizabeth laughed.

"But this is nice." Janet glanced around. "Any places for your pictures?"

"Well, there's enough leaves around here at least," Elizabeth said, looking at all the different trees.

"Are they leaves you want to take pictures of, or should we head toward town?" asked Janet.

"I might as well get one while we're here," Elizabeth said, pulling her camera out of her bag. She knelt down at the side of the path, taking a photo of a fallen leaves on the ground.

She stood up again and smiled, brushing the at her jeans. "All done."

That was an easy one," said Janet. "What else do you need? Something blue, and something else, right?"

"Yeah, blue and water," Elizabeth nodded. "Blue Jell-O? Blueberries? Blue screen of death?"

"If you have blue jell-o and don't share with Sam, she may be mad. Everyone likes red but her." Janet giggled. "Blueberries would be good, but blue screen of death just sounds too ominous."
