Friday afternoon - Around and about

Elizabeth might have already been for a short walk this morning. But this walk was for the purpose of seeing what she could photograph for her workshop and Janet was coming with.

So, after the fun at the beach workshop, she headed back to the cabin to pick up her camera once more.

"Are they leaves you want to take pictures of, or should we head toward town?" asked Janet.

"I might as well get one while we're here," Elizabeth said, pulling her camera out of her bag. She knelt down at the side of the path, taking a photo of a fallen leaves on the ground.

She stood up again and smiled, brushing the at her jeans. "All done."

That was an easy one," said Janet. "What else do you need? Something blue, and something else, right?"

"Yeah, blue and water," Elizabeth nodded. "Blue Jell-O? Blueberries? Blue screen of death?"

"If you have blue jell-o and don't share with Sam, she may be mad. Everyone likes red but her." Janet giggled. "Blueberries would be good, but blue screen of death just sounds too ominous."

"Blueberry cheesecake perhaps?" Elizabeth suggested, grinning. "I don't think they'll be anything blue in the burgers!"

"Ooh. I think that's a good idea." Janet thought for a minute. "Blue cheese, maybe?"

Elizabeth wrinkled her nose. "I hope not," she said.

"I'll bet it's too gourmet for Luke's." Janet giggled at Liz's expression. "Maybe Cafe Fina. But we're not going there, so you don't need to worry."

"That's good. Just plain old American or cheddar on my burger, thank you very much," Elizabeth nodded, grinning as she reached for Janet's hand again.

"Either one is good," agreed Janet, taking Liz's hand and looking happy. "Or maybe Swiss."

"Too many holes," Elizabeth declared, laughing.

They started walking down the path again. "That's a silly excuse not to like a cheese."

"No it's not. You get less cheese than you would if half of it's made of holes," Elizabeth pointed out. "It's also rubbery."

"See, that's a much better excuse," said Janet. "One I disagree with, though. I like Swiss cheese."

Elizabeth laughed slightly. "I can't believe we're walking along, discussing cheese of all things," she said.

Janet laughed. "It's a little more prosaic than I"m used to, yeah," she said.

"And me," Elizabeth nodded, grinning. "And I think I'm out of cheese things to say, unless you want me to start on Andrew Jackson and his big block of cheese..."

"Please, no," said Janet quickly. "So what do you want to talk about that's not quite this prosaic?"

Elizabeth grinned, bumping Janet's shoulder slightly as she moved slightly closer to her. "I didn't think that you would appreciate that," she said. "Um, how about what night we could get Chinese together?"

Janet shook her head. "I really wouldn't," she said, drifting toward Liz. "Ooh, a more formal date than today is?" she asked.

"Uh hu," Elizabeth nodded, blushing slightly "'Cause we said that we would when we were on the phone and we, um, haven't yet."

Janet nodded. "I remember. I'd like to. Go on a date with you."

"Yay. Any particular day good for you?"

"Not Tuesday," said Janet. "I have workshops all day then. Maybe Wednesday?"
